Curing Plastics With IR

application_curing_plastic Infrared heat is a popular and effective method of curing plastics. For example, A carpet manufacturer has to -- as part of its process -- cure the latex on the backs of carpets. The latex coating binds the woven fibers, preventing tuft loss. Previously, they used a steam-heated drum to cure the latex. A new modular infrared system from Heraeus Noblelight provided a staggering 96% reduction in heat-up time, a 50% reduction in required workspace, and lower operating costs.

This is only one of many real-world examples of IR for plastics curing. Infrared heat is an effective and efficient means of applying process heat in many other applications.
