APPLICATIONS

3-D Curing

3-D curing is the hardening of lacquers on three-dimensional objects. It is important that each part of the object is irradiated; this is mostly obtained thanks to a special set-up of the UV lamps.

Robots are used more and more for 3-D curing, combined with fixed lamps. On a robot arm a lamp is mounted upon a robot arm, exposing hard-to-reach parts of the plastic to radiation.

3-D curing is possible thanks to the development of spray UV. Instead of applying the UV lacquer flat with rollers or in silkscreen technique, it is now possible to spray the UV lacquer. Via a number of sprinkler nozzles the object to be coated is sprinkled with UV lacquer and afterwards put under the UV lamps.

The advantage of this technique is that all the lacquer hanging in the environment will settle and then can be recycled and used again.
